Happy 1st Birthday to Maia and Fischer's first litter!

Yesterday, February 27th, marked the last litter's first birthday! Kona's parents shared this video today of him with his birthday cake! He looks a little unsure about the singing but I'm sure he dug right in. He's currently 74 pounds and is the biggest dog so far. He was twice the size of the other puppies when he went home. I hope all the puppies enjoyed their first birthday.

day 2 in the snow

The pups are huge!

After a week away from the puppies I was ready to come home early Sunday morning. The pups grew so much while I was away for work.

The puppies got to play in the snow for the first time on Sunday since it was above 30. They only stayed out a few minutes but loved eating the snow and chasing Maia and Fischer around the yard and driveway. Then they all got baths and ran crazy around the house while I made sure their play pen and box were nice and clean.

Here are a few videos from their snow play day.

Girl photos

The calmest girls are the purple one (whose collar is now black since it came apart) and gold. The others are a little more rambunctious!

She wanted to be my valentine!

Purple girl (her collar is black in this photo)

She doesn't care at all how you old her, she likes to be all stretched out and sort of standing up on her hind legs.

She had a bit of a deer in the headlights look from the flash

Choosing week has arrived!

I can't believe the puppies will be going home in two and a half weeks, it has gone by way to fast. I am definitely ready for a few naps and less cleaning.  I am very sad that I will miss their 6th week, but I'm sure they will have lots of fun with Chris and will grow a ton while I'm away for work. I'm excited that I get to spend several full days at home with them when I get back though. I reconfirmed their vet appointment for the 24th today. They will receive a full checkup and their 8 week vaccinations.

Our first puppy family arrived on Sunday and chose blue with silver hearts as their new family member. The second family is leaning towards black, but won't make a final decision until Friday. Then Saturday arrives and the puppys will have LOTS of visitors to impress. The first few females will find their new parents on Saturday and most of the boys. If you'd like to bring a collar and tag that would be great.

Just a reminder that the puppys will be ready for their new homes February 28 or later. Let me know what works best with your schedule. It's Iditarod weekend, so its a great weekend to be in southcentral, that is if trail conditions improve.

Girls Video

So purple collar puppy (looks black now as it fell apart!) likes to play with the others but prefers the boys or alone. She is not very dominant. Gold with red hearts and brown with silver hearts seem to be the dominant girls. Blue/Green hearts is a licker! She is very playful but also comes up to snuggle and visit alot. Brown with silver hearts loves to be held and snuggled up. Gold is very playful, as they all are. She kept going on the other side of the dog play pen and wasn't able to figure out how to get back so she would cry. Shes fairly independent and explored the living room on her own and she liked to chew on the toys.

I think purple collar puppy would do well in a single dog home and the more dominant ones would do well with either another similar size dog that likes to play or no other dogs in the house.
